Capitol Hill / Congress Park
Capitol Hill (named in reference to the proximity to the gold-domed Colorado State Capitol) was home of Denver’s elite and the origination of Foursquare architecture in Denver (most of the homes date to the 1920’s).
Professionals in this neighborhood work downtown and enjoy the convenience of living close to the city in Capitol Hill’s historic buildings. Capitol Hill is considered one of Denver’s most cosmopolitan neighborhoods and is dense with galleries, restaurants, clubs, bars, stores & concert venues.
“Congress Park is a traditional city neighborhood with a small town atmosphere.” (Congress Park Neighborhood Plan). Located just north of Cherry Creek, Congress Park is known for its brick bungalows from the 1920’s &’30’s., Victorian homes & Deco buildings to the Denver Botanic Gardens, the Congress Park (with playgrounds, swimming pool & sports fields) as well as quaint shops & restaurants.
